OUR IMPACT

Real People. Real Programs. Real Community.

COMMUNITY IMPACT

We Measure Impact by What Matters.

Legacy Foundation for Change measures success by more than the number of programs we host. We measure success by the people reached, opportunities created, skills developed, connections made, and communities strengthened.

Our impact is rooted in showing up for our community, creating meaningful opportunities, and providing resources that help individuals and families move forward.

OUR IMPACT AT A GLANCE

BACK-TO-SCHOOL DRIVE

Our Back-to-School Drive is about more than backpacks—it’s about helping children begin the school year feeling prepared, supported, and confident. In 2026, Legacy Foundation for Change welcomed more than 260 community members and distributed over 200 backpacks to children and families from Montgomery County, Prince George’s County, Washington, D.C., and surrounding communities. Despite the rain, families showed up, volunteers stepped in, and our community came together to make sure children had the resources they needed to start the school year strong.

YOUTH ENTREPRENEURSHIP

We believe it’s never too early to introduce young people to entrepreneurship and the power of creating something of their own. Through our Youth Entrepreneurship T-Shirt Workshop, young participants explored creativity, branding, business concepts, and the process of turning an idea into a product. This hands-on experience introduced youth to entrepreneurship while encouraging creativity, confidence, and the belief that their ideas have value.

FINANCIAL LITERACY

Financial education is at the heart of our work because understanding money can help change the direction of an individual or family’s future. Through our financial literacy programming, we create opportunities for youth and adults to learn about budgeting, saving, credit, financial decision-making, and building financial stability. Our goal is to provide practical tools people can use in everyday life while building the confidence to make informed financial choices.

COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS

Our community workshops create spaces where people can learn, connect, ask questions, and walk away with something they can use. From financial education to personal development and wellness, our workshops are designed around real needs within the communities we serve. In 2026, our Paint Branch Lunch & Learn brought financial education directly to more than 30 students, giving young people an opportunity to begin thinking about money, goals, and their future.

SEASON OF JOY

The Season of Joy is our reminder that every family deserves the opportunity to experience a little joy during the holiday season. Through our toy giveaway, Legacy Foundation for Change brought together volunteers, donors, and community partners to provide toys and gifts to more than 40 families and approximately 50–60 children. What began with a simple goal—to give—became a meaningful celebration of generosity, community, and the power of showing up for one another.

VOLUNTEER & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

None of our work happens alone. Our volunteers, partners, sponsors, and community members are an important part of everything we do. From preparing supplies and welcoming families to supporting workshops and community events, volunteers help turn ideas into impact. We believe that when people give their time, talents, resources, and energy, communities become stronger—and everyone has something valuable to contribute.

TESTIMONIALS

I just want to say how proud to attend Legacy Foundation for Change, a non-profit organization, who sponsor Back-to-School for the last two years.  I'm not a volunteer, but I support their hard work providing for every child of different cultures with school supplies.

Their first year, 2025, there were so many children and parents that came out for school supplies.  The organization fed everyone a full meal, water/juice and dessert.  The heartwarming feeling was seeing the smiles on the children faces having a fun day as well as getting their school supplies (backpack filled with everything they needed for school).  The children enjoyed dancing with the D Jay, face painting, boxing techniques for older children and just having fun as kids.  Very nice door prizes were given out as well.

Second year, August 16, 2026, it was the same as last year 2025, but they added arts and crafts, drawing/coloring on huge sheets.  With the economy not good for people struggling with food, parents were able to take several different types of vegetables, potatoes, tomatoes, onions and fruits, so they would have something to fix for themselves,  children and it was free for all.  Such a blessing to the farmers who supported this event.

Legacy Foundation for Change, a non-profit organization is truly giving back to the communities and focusing on caring/supporting all children Back-to-School needs and the staff/volunteers are parents themselves.

Continue your journey on helping the children.  You all are the best and glad to know most of you.
